CRD Fundraiser Success.
“Our recent fundraiser held at the Black Sheep Bar saw jelly wrestling, some awesome bands and our very own roller girls showing off their skills in order to help raise a phenomenal £700.
The crowd thoroughly enjoyed live sets from Devil Cocks, Wonk Unit and The Lost Audio; who created an atmospheric first half of the evening.
In between the performances the roller girls competed in twister competitions, which were of much amusement to the audience.
Congratulations to the flexible rookie Alex Bothwell for winning the twister competition.
Many would argue the highlight of the evening was jelly wrestling competition hosted by 3G which featured roller and 3G girls wrestling in cold, strawberry jelly. Tasty! It is still unknown who the champion of this particular contest was.
Croydon Roller Derby merchandise was selling like hot cakes, and so were the actual hot cakes, which were devoured by many.
A host of prizes were won during the raffle including roller girls’ favourites; alcohol and tattoo vouchers
A massive special thanks has to go to Helen ‘Dot Cottonmouth’ Burgess for arranging the extremely successful and entertaining event.
Also thanks to all of the Croydon roller girls who helped out and our compare of the night Christian ‘Rolling Thunder’ Gib who we all saw a little too much of towards the end of the evening!”
